Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha trend upsets Digivjay Singh, latter has a reason for this

For more than a week now, the movie has been making it to top Twitter trends over his movie Laal Singh Chaddha. Lot many Twitter users mostly right-wing tore into the actor for mocking Hindu faith & ideology in his previous films

New Delhi: Aamir Khan’s latest flick Laal Singh Chaddha, drawing online flak for last few days, opened to weak numbers in theatres on Thursday. The filmmakers including superstar Aamir Khan are yet to react on ‘poor numbers’ but what has surprised all is the entry of veteran politician Digvijay Singh into the row and vouching for the Khan’s movie.

Senior Congress, apparently upset with the boycott trend of the movie, took to Twitter and spoke against the ‘unjust’ treatment meted out to movie. He insinuated that there was a planned & concerted campaign to discredit the movie.

“I believe #BoycottLalSinghChaddha is trending. Why? Who is behind this?” he asked.

He chose the opportunity to blame it on ‘ModiShah Troll Army’. He said that the troll army has armed itself to rip into his movie without no fault of makers.

The Congress leader also made an appeal to viewers to watch both movies, Aamir starrer Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay starrrer Raksha Bandhan.

Aamir’s clarification failed to placate fans

For more than a week now, the movie has been making it to top Twitter trends over his movie Laal Singh Chaddha. Lot many Twitter users mostly right-wing tore into the actor for mocking Hindu faith & ideology in his previous films and also appealed fellow users to boycott the film.

The calls for boycott gained strength as many video clips of Aamir desecrating Hindu faith in previous movies was shared on social media.

The raging anger got so fierce that the high-octane PR drive by the film makers failed to rescue the movie, at least on Day 1 of release.

Many users were also miffed over his previous remarks, when speaking on country’s political environment, he said that he and his wife wanted to migrate out of the country because of ‘growing intolerance’.
