New Delhi: A video of Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Arshad Rana is going viral for crying in the police station in Muzaffarnagar after being denied a poll ticket by the party. Rana also claimed that he was demanded Rs 67 lakh for a ticket two years ago.  He also lodged a complaint against a senior BSP leader. He wanted to fight election from the district’s Charthawal constituency but didn’t get ticket for the same.

Moreover, he threatened to commit suicide if he did not get justice. However, the police said that necessary legal action will be taken after the investigation.

Who is Arshad Rana?

Arshad Rana belongs to the Dadhedu village of Muzaffarnagar in the Charthawal constituency.  Reportedly, he is active in politics for 24 years.  In an interview with ANI, he claimed that he has been working very hard for the party since 2018 when he was formally declared candidate from Charthawal by BSP.

Furthermore, he alleged that the District chairman of BSP Satish Kumar asked him to arrange Rs 50 lakh when he reached his office after his candidature was cancelled on Thursday.

Mayawati announces Salman Saeed from Charthawal

Notably, BSP Chief Mayawati announced Salman Saeed a candidate from Charthawal constituency on Thursday on Twitter. Saeed is a son of former Home Minister of UP Saiduzzaman. He joined the BSP from Congress on Wednesday after the discussion with the party, added Mayawati.
