Caught on Cam: Bihar’s top bureaucrat abuses junior officers at meeting, VIDEO is viral

While the IAS officer berated juniors with expletives-laden rant, the whole act was captured on camera. As the video created stir on social media, the state Excise Minister Sunil Kumar has promised necessary action.

New Delhi: KK Pathak, top ranking IAS officer in Bihar government was caught on camera hurling abuses at his junior officers. The senior bureaucrat, Principal Secretary in Bihar Excise Department, was apparently miffed over people not following traffic rules.

The Principal Secretary’s rant was reportedly aimed at Deputy Collector. Reports said that the latter had filed a complaint against him, accusing him of ill-treatment during a training session.

“In Chennai, people follow rules. Have you ever seen anyone here following the traffic rules? They keep honking even when there is red light. People here are like that only. Laal light bhi hai, pe pe bhi karega,” said the IAS officer.

While the IAS officer berated juniors with expletives-laden rant, the whole act was captured on camera. As the video created stir on social media, the state Excise Minister Sunil Kumar has promised necessary action.

Bihar Administrative Services Association has also condemned his abrasive behavior and demanded action against the bureaucrat.

“We demand the government to sack such an officer. We have decided to register an FIR against him. He used abusive words for us which is wrong. We condemn it,” Sunil Tiwari, general secretary, Bihar Administrative Services Association, said to ANI.

KK Pathak is 1990-batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre and originally hails from Uttar Pradesh. Known for his strict administration, the top officer was brought back to state from Delhi in 2015, reportedly on the recommendation of Nitish Kumar.
