New Delhi: Sudden heart attack resulting in death, even for young & middle-age persons, has become a reality of the times. Over past few months, mostly after Covid-pandemic phase, the incidents of sudden heart attacks have spiked.
Official numbers may be contrasting in terms of heart attacks but one can’t argue over rising number of such incidents getting recorded on camera.
In yet another shocking incident, a ‘cricketer’ suffered heart attack on the cricket pitch and collapsed, only to be announced dead, moments later. The cricket match took place in Noida and the one who suffered attack was a Delhi resident working in the NCR. The disturbing visuals of the cricket match was recorded on camera.
According to a local portal, the person was identified as 36-year-old Vikas Negi. He was subsequently shifted to hospital after getting fatal heart attack but the doctors declared him dead. Police have sent his body for post-mortem.
What happened in cricket match
A cricket match was underway in the Noida Expressway police station area. Vikas Negi, who works as an engineer in a Noida based company, accompanied his friend for a cricket match in Noida sector-135 area on Saturday.

The video which recorded the game and also the fatal incident on camera shows Vikas Negi collapsing which running for a single.
While the game was underway, Negi stood at the other batting end. As he runs for a single, he starts running out of breath and then collapses on field. The fellow cricketers quickly assemble for extending him a helping hand but he couldn’t be rescued. He was taken to hospital but the doctors declared him dead.
Vikas Negi, a native of Uttarakhand, was staying in Delhi’s Rohini area. His untimely demise has left his family shocked & shattered.
This may be just another incident of heart attack but comes as a grim reminder of the times we are living in and also how the fragile health in post-Covid phase is taking a toll on us.
