Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections: Voting on 20 seats in the first phase of elections tomorrow, check all the details about the candidates from each seats

In the last assembly elections of Chhattisgarh, Congress dethroned the BJP government after securing 68 seats out of 90.

Raipur: Pollling will take place for 20 out of 90 Assembly constituenceis of Chhattisgarh on November 7 (Tuesday). While in some critical constituencies, voting will begin from 7 AM & culminate at 3 PM, rest of the seats will have regular time of 7 AM to 5 PM, for people to exercise their franchisee.

Notably, the last Chhattisgarh elections saw Congress dethroning the then BJP government, as it had secured 68 out of 90 seats.

BJP has mounted a strong campaign & challenge against Bhupesh Baghel government in the state and this is likely to be a close fight in the electoral arena, given the popularity & public connect of latter.

Cong top guns in poll race

Congress has fielded its heavyweight candidates & top guns in the race for these 20 seats. These seasoned & veteran candidates, riding on their credibilty, will seek to foil the BJP’s blitzkrief for return to power.

In Rajandgaon constituency, former Chief Minister and BJP’s tall face Dr Raman will seek re-election to the office , however, Congress candidate Girish Devgan is expected to pose considerable challenge.

In Kawardh seat, BJP’s Vijay Sharma will take on Congresses candidate Md. Akbar while in Jagdalpur seat, BJP’s Santosh Bafana and Congresses Jatin Jaiswal will square off in a likely close encounter.

Some of the high-profile seats include Antagarh seat, where BJP’s Vikram Usendi will be at loggerheads with Congress nominee Roop Singh.

On the Kondagaon seat, BJP’s Lata Usendi will be up against Congresses veteran Mohan Markam while in Chitrakut, BJP’s Vinayak Goel will take on Congresses candidate Deepak Baij.

On the Konta seat, Soyam Muka of BJP will challenge Kavasi Lakhma-led Congresses while on Bijapur seat, it will be BJP’s Mahesh Gagda against Congresses Vikram Mandvi, while on the Narayanpur seat, it will be BJP’s Kedar Kashyap against Congresses Chandan Kashyap.

12 out of the 20 seats, selected in the first phase of the election are tribal majority seats.
