CM Rupani promotes ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat’, interacts with 50 N-E students on a trip to Gujarat

In an interesting dialogue with these children, the Chief Minister highlighted the cultural and historical ties between the two regions by giving the role of Gujarat being the land of Lord Krishna while the northeastern state is the land of Rukmani.

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani interacted with 50 students from north eastern states who are on a trip to Gujarat under National interactive tour. The Assam Rifles, the oldest regiment of the Indian Army, has organized a National Interactive Tour this year for about 50 students from rural schools in Gujarat.

While interacting with students at his residence in Gandhinagar, Chief Minister expressed the belief that the culture of unity in diversity and ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat’ gets new impetus from the cultural tours of students between different states.

He also briefed the children about importance places of Gujarat including Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi, the world’s tallest statue of Sardar sahib-the Statue of Unity. These children also expressed their happiness that this trip to Gujarat has become a real experience for them to know about states development.

The main purpose of this tour is to give in-depth knowledge of the development and plans of other states of the country to the students of the hinterland villages of the underdeveloped regions-states children of various inland schools of North-Eastern States like Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Assam and Nagaland.

Led by Major Rohan of Assam Rifles, students will also visited places like Porbandar, Okha Coastguard Center, Dwarikadhish Temple during their Gujarat tour and then return to Guwahati after completing their journey.

It is envisaged through this exchange, that the knowledge of the language, culture, traditions and practices of different states will lead to an enhanced understanding and bonding between one another, thereby strengthening the unity and integrity of India.
