Delhi college girl killed in park, spurned lover hit her head with iron rod

New Delhi: A city college girl was found laying lifeless on a bench in Malviya Nagar park. Police found her body after informed by locals. The victim, a student of Kamla Nehru college was attacked by rod in broad daylight, apparently by a male friend, who accompanied her to the park.

A team of Delhi Police led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) rushed to the spot after getting information about girl’s death.

The accused have been apprehended and he reportedly told the Delhi Police that the victim refused his marriage proposal and hence he bludgeoned her to death.

The incident took place in Vijay Mandal Park at Shivalik A block of Malviya Nagar. According to the cops, the college student had an external injury mark on her head. An iron rod was also recovered from the crime scene.

According to police, the victim and her male friend walked into the park and got into confrontation over some issue. The boy then hit her head with an iron road and fled from the spot. The girl suffered severe blood loss and that could have led to her death, it said.

“We received information that a 25-year-old girl was found dead near Aurbindo College in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar. An iron rod was found near her body. Our preliminary investigation suggests that the girl may have been struck with the rod. Further investigation is underway,” DCP South, Chandan Chowdhary, told ANI.
