Facebook & Instagram accounts of Indian Army’s Chinar Corps blocked

“A link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed,” reads the message when one visits the Facebook and Instagram pages of the Chinar Corps.

New Delhi: Chinar Corps, a key unit of Indian Army operating in strategic areas of Jammu & Kashmir have their Facebook & Instagram accounts blocked.
Their social media accounts have been blocked for more than a week now.

The matter has been taken up with Facebook, but no response has come yet, said Defence Ministry sources with knowhow of the matter.

“A link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed,” reads the message when one visits the Facebook and Instagram pages of the Chinar Corps.

The Chinar Corps had created their accounts & handles on Facebook and Instagram to give a counter to fake news and lies circulated on the social media. It was an attempt to present a clear picture of the ground situation and to puncture the false propaganda disseminated from other side of the border.
