FIR registered against Facebook page ‘Mangalore Muslim’ for posting derogatory content: Police Commissioner

Bajrang Dal Activist Killed: A 28-year-old Bajrang Dal leader Harsha was stabbed to death on Sunday.

New Delhi: An FIR has been registered against a Facebook page ‘Mangalore Muslim’ for posting derogatory content, said N Shashi Kumar, Police Commissioner, Mangaluru City on Wednesday (February 23.)

The Facebook page is in the headlines, the murder of Bajrang Dal activist Harsha in Shivamogga on February 21.

Earlier, a complaint was filed against the ‘Mangalore Muslims’ Facebook page, which is said to have been involved in creating enmity between Hindus and Muslims and their organizations.

According to the media reports, the post by the Facebook page had referred  Harsha as a “street dog,” and the post added that “whoever insults the Prophet will meet the same fate.” The post also blamed Karnataka Minister KS Eshwarappa for Harsha’s murder.

Also, Mangaluru police are continuously monitoring the social media after the death of Harsha.
