Ghaziabad: Landlord kills tenant, chops his body into pieces and dumps it in the canal

During the police investigation and interrogation, it was found that he strangled Ankit Khokar to death on October 6, later he then chopped up the body and packed it in aluminum foil.

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a man named Umesh Sharma from UP’s Modinagar Ghaziabad district was arrested for allegedly killing his tenant, Ankit Khokar, chopping his body into four pieces and throwing it in the canal.

According to the Police, the victim had recently sold his ancestral land in Baghpat for which he had got ₹ 1 crore and his landlord was eyeing it.

The killer’s friend, identified as Parvesh, has also been arrested.

The victim, Ankit Khokar lived after the death of his parents and he was a Ph.D. scholar enrolled at a university in Lucknow.

The incident came to light and police were informed after his friends tried searching for him when they sensed something fishy. According to his friends, the victim was not answering calls for weeks when they suddenly started receiving messages from his number.

It was only when they found out that the messages that they were receiving were not the way he did.

The victim had given 40 lakh to the accused as a loan.

He also used the victim’s ATM card to withdraw  Rs 20 lakh from his accounts.
He had also given the ATM card to his friend in Uttarakhand to make withdrawals.
He also asked his friend to carry the victim’s phone along with him to mislead the investigations, said Iraj Raja, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ghaziabad Rural.
