Gujarat: Chief Minister Vijay Rupani flags-off 91st K-9 Vajra Tank

Rupani proudly stated that Gujarat has registered 53% of FDI in the entire country. It is also the highest registered by any state in India.

Gandhinagar: Chief Minister of the state Vijay Rupani flagged-off the indigenously manufactured 91st K-9 Vajra Tank in Surat.

Rupani congratulated L&T for fulfilling the mission of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ by manufacturing the tanks indigenously.

The CM said, “Defence equipments were imported earlier. Today, DRDO conducts the necessary research and equipments are made in India. L&T has also constructed the World’s Tallest Statute in Gujarat and shown their mettle in engineering and construction. The state government is working 24×7 to ensure production of defence weapons in Gujarat.”

Rupani proudly stated that Gujarat has registered 53% of FDI in the entire country. It is also the highest registered by any state in India.

Gujarat is a Policy Driven State and the administration has a ‘Single Window Clearance’ process for heavy industries, water, energy etc.

Company Director of L&T Mr. Jayant Patil said, “ A mere 12% to 15% parts have been imported for making this tank. We aim to provide more than 100 such tanks by the end of February.”

The CM also inspected the Armoured Systems Complex during his visit to Surat.
Municipal Commissioner Mr. Bacchanidhi Pani, Police Commissioner Mr. Ajay Tomar and senior officials from L&T were present during the event.
