Gujarat: Massive fire breaks out at Covid-19 hospital in Ahmedabad, 8 patients dead

The fire broke out at the Ahmedabad hospital around 3.30 am in the ICU unit of, police said.

New Delhi: At least eight patients died after a major fire broke out at a Covid-19 hospital in Ahmedabad in the wee hours of Thursday.

“Eight coronavirus patients admitted in the ICU ward of Shrey Hospital have died due to the fire, which has been doused,” said an official of the Ahmedabad Fire Department.

A healthcare worker was also injured in the fire, the official added.

The fire broke out at the Ahmedabad hospital around 3.30 am in the ICU unit of, police said.

Meanwhile, CM Vijay Rupani has ordered a probe in the incident of fire at Shrey Hospital in Ahmedabad. Sangeeta Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (Home Department) will be leading the probe. The CM has ordered for a report within 3 days.
