New Delhi: While the Court-mandated videography survey found Shivling inside the Gyanvapi mosque complex, senior Congress leader & Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot’s disparaging & insulting remarks over the survey findings has sparked war of words, with BJP taking strong objection to it.

The Congress leader mocked the Hindu Astha as he termed the whole controversy over Gyanvapi survey a ‘tamasha’. He also called it a BJP plot to create communal tension across the country.

BJP has taken strong objection to tamasha jibe by Congress leader and said that it was in Congress DNA to mock Hindu beliefs & traditions. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawallah asked Congress “whether the Hindu Astha was a joke for them?”

Poonawallah said that the survey order was given by court and not BJP. He said that Shivling was found inside the Gyanvapi mosque complex on third day of the survey and the Varanasi court has also directed officials to restrict access to the reservoir where the idol was found.

Lashing out at the Congress, he tweeted, “Devotion for Baba is Tamasha for ‘Janeudhari’ Congress? Court order to preserve Shivling is Tamasha? DNA of Cong to mock Hindus-they denied existence of Shri Ram-they labelled Hindutva as ISIS.”

After three days of survey, when a petitioner claimed ‘Baba Mil gaye’, it came as vindication of the Hindu side who have been reiterating that the mosque was raised over the ruins of Shiva temple. Mosque committee & Muslim side contested this claim. But, with the survey team moving court for securing the premises of Shivling inside the mosque complex and court giving consent for shielding the reservoir & restricting access to people, clamour rose further for demolishing the intervening the wall between temple & mosque.

Reacting to this, Ashok Gehlot slammed the BJP but his derisive comment on the Hindu Astha hasn’t gone down well with majority of devout Hindus.
