New Delhi: Two days after 11 rapists of Bilkis Bano was released, the survivor of one of the most horrific rape cases during the 2002 Gujarat riots said the release of these culprits has “shaken” her faith in justice.
She has released her statement and hinted that she has been deep hurt and betrayal. She said is left her “numb” and “bereft of words.”
All the 11 life term convicts in Bilkis Bano gang rape case were released as per the remission policy prevalent in Gujarat at the time of their conviction in 2008.
It was on March 2002, during post-Godhra riots, Bilkis Bano was allegedly gang-raped and left to die. She was five months pregnant when rioters attacked her family in Vadodara.
Out of her 14 members of her family, including her three-year-old daughter seven family members were killed.
