In Gurugram, burqa-clad woman stabs cab driver, gets into scuffle with police…. WATCH

New Delhi: A burqa-clad woman on Tuesday allegedly stabbed a cab driver in Haryana’s Gurugram. The incident happened in the Civil Lines area, leading to chaos and the deployment of police. The driver suffered minor injuries.

The driver identified as Raghuraj stated that the lady signaled him to stop when he was on his way to drop a ride. When he asked her what she wanted, she stabbed him and attempted to flee from the scene.

The incident took place a few meters away from the traffic police booth. The passerby overpowered her after her act and handed her to the police. The police took note of the incident and arrested her immediately.

Reportedly, she also attacked the police when they tried to detain her. She attacked a police officer. Initial investigation revealed that the woman is of foreign origin and is mentally disturbed.

“The woman signalled me to stop the cab and when I stopped the vehicle, she attacked me with a sharp-edged knife. She tried to flee but was nabbed,” the 35-year-old victim said.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Civil Lines police station is investigating the matter and they will reveal the reason behind the incident after recording the accused’s statement.
