Karnataka election results: A look at what Satta Bazaars are betting on – Cong or BJP

A look at top 6 Satta Bazaars indicate that Congress is the biggest gainer in elections and is expected to bag clear majority, winning over 120 seats.

New Delhi: While the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress await the Karnataka election results with bated breath, various Satta Bazaars across the country are also speculating about the poll outcome.

A look at top 6 Satta Bazaars indicate that Congress is the biggest gainer in elections and is expected to bag clear majority, winning over 120 seats. BJP’s tally is seen hitting almost half of Congress with about 65 seats while Kumaraswamy led JD(S) is seen headed for another stint in kingmaker role with about 26 seats.

According to Phalondi Satta Bazaar, Congress will bag 137 seats, BJP 55 and JD(S) will end at 30 seats.

Palanpur Satta Bazaar gives a whopping 141 seats to Congress, 55 to BJP and 24 to JD(S).
Karnal Satta Bazaar projects Congress, BJP & JD(S ) numbers at 124, 69 & 24 seats respectively.
Bohri Satta Bazaar is betting heavily on Congress, with its projections of 149 seats. It predicts 48 seats for BJP & 22 for JD(S).

According to Belgaum & Kolkata Satta Bazaar, Congress will get between 136-139 seats while BJP is seen limiting at just 56 seats while JD(S) tally falling somewhere between 30-34 seats.

How BJP & Cong top candidates reacted

Majority of Exit polls have predicted victory for Congress and setback for BJP while more or less status quo for JD(S). However, most exit polls have refrained from giving clear majority to any party and are rather expecting a hung & fractured mandate.

Reacting to the exit polls, the incumbent CM Basavaraj Bommai said that the BJP will form government again with a “comfortable majority”.

Congress’ Karnataka president DK Shivakumar wasn’t convinced with exit poll numbers & he predicted close to 150 seats for the grand old party.

The magic number to form government in Karnataka is 113. Any party wanting to form government will need to cross 113 mark in 224-seat Assembly.
