New Delhi: A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Ranchi on Tuesday pronounced RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav guilty in the fifth fodder scam case. Former Bihar CM has been convicted in the Rs 139.5 crore Doranda treasury embezzlement case and the court is likely to pronounce quantum of punishment on February 18.

Lalu Yadav has already been convicted in four cases related to the multi-crore fodder scam.

His conviction in the fodder scam means fresh trouble for the ailing RJD chief, who is out on bail in previous cases. This has also sparked reactions on social media with many hailing the verdict while others lamenting his conviction as his supporters see him as a ‘messiah of poor’.
