Late Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal accorded Shaurya Chakra for his role; wife, mother receive award (Video)

New Delhi: Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal accorded the Shaurya Chakra (posthumously) for his role in an operation where five terrorists were eliminated and 200 kg explosive material was recovered. His wife Lt Nitika Kaul and mother receive the award from the President.

Major Dhoundiyal, resident of Dehradun, was among four Army men who were killed in the encounter with JeM terrorists in Pulwama district. They killed–JeM commander Kamran–the mastermind of February 14 terror attack on CRPF convoy in which 40 jawans were killed.

The widow of Army Major Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal, who was killed in the 2019 Pulwama terrorist attack,  joined the Indian Army as Lieutenant Nikita Kaul Dhoundiyal.
