PM Modi’s address to nation: Vaccine for children from Jan 3, precaution dose for healthcare workers, elderly from Jan 10

PM Modi’s address to the nation comes close on the heels of approval of Bharat Biotech’s emergency use authorisation by DGCI for children above 12 years of age.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Saturday over rising Omicron threat across the threat. In his 15 minute address to the nation, PM Modi announced a couple of policy decisions to intensity nation’s vaccination programme, aimed at reaching out to the vulnerable community i.e. frontline & healthcare workers.

PM Modi announced that children above 15-18 years of age will be vaccinated from next month, starting January 3. PM also announced that those in the frontline and senior citizens alongwith those with co-morbitiy will be jabbed with precautionary dose of Covid-19, starting January 10.
