New Delhi: If you like holidays or prefer some quick getaways to break away from the monotonous work life but find it difficult to take leave from office, here we provide a quick guide on how to plan your holiday in the year 2024.

The Generation Next has given new meaning to holidays owing to its adventurous streak and penchant for exploring new places. However, shortage of funds and lack of office holidays remain a great constraint in their getaway plans.

The arrival of Year 2024 allows you plenty of options/holidays to choose from. The year is marked with many long weekends, which will enable you to have plenty of holidays without seeking extra leave from office.

You won’t need permissions from office for every leave as couple of festival dates are clubbed with the weekend, allowing you to have that ‘extra edge’ in planning short holiday trips.

List of long weekends:

Out of twelve months, January to March looks a bit more flexible in terms of holidays. March gives you plenty of options to choose from. They are :

January – March

January: 26-28
March: 8 -10
March: 23-25
March: 29-31

Gulmarg --

Locations which you can visit: You can plan a quick holiday to Gulmarg in Jammu & Kashmir for snowfall experience. Other option could be attending Holi celebration in Pushkar.

April-June

For April-June quarter, a couple of dates are available during which you can plan your holidays, taking minimal leave from office. In between the given dates below, you would just one leave from office.

May: 23 – 26 (take leave on 24th)
June: 14-17 (take leave on 14th)

Spiti valley -=

Locations which you can visit: Since it’s a 4-day period, you could visit the famed Spiti valley in Himachal or Tawang in Arunachal.

July – September

August: 15 – 19 (take leave on 16)
August: 23-26 (take leave on 23)
Sept: 5 – 8 (take leave on 6)

Goa monsoonLocations which you can visit: The four-day period allows you to spend some quality time watching monsoons in Goa or Onam festival in Kerala.

October –December

October : 11-13
November: 1-3

Cherry blossom--

Locations which you can visit:  Winter would be setting in during this period and it would make at have an experience of Cherry Blossom in Shillong.
