‘Made in India’ trains go global: EAM Jaishankar shares experience about a ride in Mozambique (VIDEO)

The Minister shared his experience of travelling in ‘Made In India’ train on a foreign land and expressed happiness over nation’s new technical prowess.

New Delhi: If the indigenously built Vande Bharat Express trains are making headlines domestically, the ‘Made in India’ trains are making waves too, abroad in African continent.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar who is currently on a tour of 2 African nations Mozambique & Uganda, took a ride on the ‘Made in India’ train while being in former’s capital Maputo.

The Minister shared his experience of travelling in ‘Made In India’ train on a foreign land and expressed happiness over nation’s new technical prowess.

Taking to Twitter, Jaishankar wrote, “Took a ride in a ‘Made in India’ train from Maputo to Machava with Mozambican Transport Minister Mateus Magala. Appreciate CMD RITES Rahul Mithal joining us on the journey.”

India’s foreign minsiter & Mozambican Transport minister also discussed about ways to expand train networks & waterways connectivity.

Jaishankar also held a press conference on the moving train along Mozambican Transport Minister Mateus Magala.


Jaishankar’s three visit to Mozambique is the first-ever visit by an Indian External Affairs Minister.

“A great green transport conversation with Mozambican Minister of Transport &Communication and Chairman, Mozambican Port & Rail Authority Mateus Magala. Talked about expanding train networks, electric mobility & waterways connectivity. India is a reliable partner in this regard,” he tweeted.

Mr Jaishankar also visited a temple in Mozambique & also interacted with the local Indian community.

“Offered my prayers at the Shree Vishvambhar Mahadev Mandir in Maputo this evening. So glad to interact with the Indian community there,” he tweeted.
