‘Mann Ki Baat’: 100th episode massive success in India, abroad, data & reviews speak for themselves

From Indian celebrities and politicians to UN and global entrepreneurs, people took to social media to share their pictures listening to the 100th episode and appreciated PM Modi for his efforts.

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi hosted the 100th episode of his radio show ‘Mann Ki Baat’. The historic episode aired on April 30 proved to be a huge success as it was lauded not just across India but even globally. From Indian celebrities and politicians to UN and global entrepreneurs, people took to social media to share their pictures listening to the 100th episode and appreciated PM Modi for his efforts.

PM Modi asked the listeners to share their pictures on social media and more than 11 lakh people posted their pictures listening to ‘Mann Ki Baat’ and around 9 lakh tweets with billions of impressions were registered on the microblogging site.

The program was widely listened to in international embassies of India across the world. Indian diaspora organised various community meets to listen to the 100th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’.

BJP leaders, including the Chief Ministers and Union Ministers, were present for the screening of the show and the Raj Bhawans held special conclaves to invite people from their state who had been mentioned in ‘Mann Ki Baat’. This Mann Ki Baat @100 Conclave witnessed various celebrities including Bollywood stars Aamir Khan and Raveena Tandon. Film stars including Madhuri Dixit, Shahid Kapoor and Rohit Shetty listened and reacted to the show at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai.

The program was broadcasted in various community centers and railway stations across the country where several coolies, railway authorities, and police personnel were witnessed listening to it. Apart from it, the show was broadcasted in religious and community places including Irfani Madarsa and Jama Masjid.

UNESCO’s director-general Audrey Azoulay was featured in the episode and asked PM Modi about India’s path in giving quality education and cultural development with reference to the G20 presidency. Replying to her, PM Modi mentioned the late D Prakash Rao, a tea seller who educates underprivileged children, Sanjay Kashyap, a digital library owner in Jharkhand, and Hemlata NK, who aided e-learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mentioning G20 presidency, the Prime Minister said that education and culture have been ‘favourite’ themes of ‘Mann Ki Baat’.

Billionaire Bill Gates’ foundation was one of the entities involved in the reasearch on the impact of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ and the founder of Microsoft also took to Twitter to laud the show.

It can be concluded that the cetenary episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ was a historic event and a result of the Prime Minister’s outreach to citizens that began on 3 October 2014.
