Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi remembers Sardar Patel, pushes for ‘vocal for local’ in the 106th episode of his radio programme

As per a special research report released by the Economic Department of State Bank of India, Mann Ki Bat enjoys around 23 crore regular listeners while 41 crore people tune in to it occasionally.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the 106th episode of his popular radio program Mann Ki Bat on Sunday during which he addressed the nation and shared his thoughts with the countrymen.

The radio program has played a crucial role in popularising and spreading awareness about numerous government schemes amongst the citizens and has also led to an increase in women’s participation in them.

It was broadcast live on Doordarshan and Akashvani. Besides that, Mann Ki Baat was also digitally streamed on a number of YouTube channels including DD News, PMO, and Information and Broadcasting Ministry. Following its Hindi streaming, PM’s Mann Ki Baat will now be broadcast in regional languages on Akashwani.

Here on the way to GabbarParvat, you will be able to see sculptures of various Yoga postures and Asanas. Do you know what is special about these statues? Actually, these are sculptures made from scrap; in a way, made of junk and are very amazing”

The PM then urged the Governor of Gujarat to start a competition and invite such people. “This endeavour, along with enhancing the attraction value of Gabbar Parvat, will also inspire people for the ‘Waste to Wealth’ campaign across the country”, he added

PM congratulates participants of Para Asian games 

11;30 IST: Congratulating the Para Asian Game Athletes of the country for their exceptional performance in the tournament, the PM said that India has made history by earning 111 medals.

Earlier, the Prime Minister also appreciated the Indian Summer Olympic athletes saying, “Friends, I wish to draw your attention to the Special Olympics World Summer Games, as well. In this competition, the Indian Team won 200 medals including 75 Gold Medals. Be it Roller Skating, Beach Volleyball, Football or Lawn Tennis, Indian players won a flurry of medals. The life journey of these medal winners has been quite inspiring”

It is from the tribal community that the country got women with brave hearts like Raj Mohini Devi and Rani Kamlapati. The country is grateful to its tribal society, which has always held the self-respect and upliftment of the nation paramount.”

I would urge the youth – I would urge them again and again that all of you Youth of my country, all you sons and daughters of my country, register on MyBharat.gov.in and sign up for various programs.”

11 AM IST: PM Modi ‘vocals for local” and urges the countrymen to support local businesses this coming festive season. The PM said that Khadi witnessed record sales in the national capital on Gandhi Jayanti.

Earlier PM greeted the citizens for the approaching times of festivities. “This broadcast is taking place during the time when the whole of India is engaged in the vehemence of festivals” he added.

Not much after being sworn in as Prime Minister of the Country in 2014, PM Modi hosted the programme’s inaugural episode of Mann Ki Bat on 3 October 2014.

Ever since then, PM has held 105 episodes of the show which usually aired on the last Sunday of each month at 11 AM IST on Doordarshan and All India Radio.

As per a special research report released by the Economic Department of State Bank of India, Mann Ki Bat enjoys around 23 crore regular listeners while 41 crore people tune in to it occasionally.
