Mega ‘Kalash Yatra’ planned: Kalyan Singh’s ashes to be immersed in Varanasi, Prayagraj & Ayodhya

According to reports, as per ‘Kalash Yatra, the ashes of late Kalyan Singh will be immersed in Ganga river in Kashi, Saryu river in Ayodhya and Sangam in Prayagraj.

New Delhi: Kalyan Singh, the BJP veteran and former UP Chief Minister was cremated with full state honours on August 23. He was not just one of the tallest BJP leaders but also one of the most vocal proponents of Ram Mandir.

Days after his cremation, the BJP and RSS leaders are chalking out a mega ‘Kalash Yatra’ plan for immersing his ashes. The party leaders are currently brainstorming over the Asthi Kalash Yatra and giving final touches to procession route and also immersion of ashes.

According to reports, as per ‘Kalash Yatra, the ashes of late Kalyan Singh will be immersed in Ganga river in Kashi, Saryu river in Ayodhya and Sangam in Prayagraj.

The immersion of Kalyan Singh’s ashes will be done on August 27. After this, a ‘paying tribute’ ceremony will be held on September 1, where leaders of all parties will be invited to pay their last respects.

Kalyan Singh, the former UP CM and Rajasthan governor died on August 21 in Lucknow after a prolonged illness. Kalyan Singh’s death was mourned not just by BJP and Sangh workers but also lakhs of Ram Bhakts, who saw him as one of the strong pillars of Ram Mandir movement.

Following Kalyan Singh’s death, UP CM Yogi Adityanath took part in his last journey from Lucknow-Aligarh to Atrauli and Narora. Home Minister Amit Shah also attended the cremation of Kalyan Singh. Amit Shah said that his ‘life goal’ had been fulfilled with the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.

Earlier during the last rites, the party made it a point to fulfil Kalyan Singh’s ‘last wish’. Speaking at a public rally, an impassioned Kalyan Singh had famously said that he would like to be covered in BJP flag after his death. The party fulfilled his ‘last wish’ and he was covered with BJP flag before the cremation.
