Modi most loved leader in the world: Italian PM’s gushing praise for Indian counterpart (VIDEO)

New Delhi: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, currently on a visit to India, showered lavish praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and said that he was the ‘most loved leader in the world.’

The effusive praise for PM Modi came during the joint press statement by Prime Ministers of both nations, on the sidelines of the Russia Dialogue.

The Italian Prime Minister lauded the Indian counterpart for having the highest approval ratings in the world.

“(PM Modi) is the most loved one of all (leaders) around the world. This is really proven that he has been a major leader and congratulations for that,” Italian PM Giorgia Meloni said.

“We both share hope that India as G20 president can play pivotal role in facilitating negotiations towards ceasefire and a just peace,” Meloni said, while gleefully adding in the same breath that PM Modi had the highest approval ratings as global leader.

PM Modi also looked pleasantly surprised at the admiration & reciprocated her compliments with a broad smile on his face.

Earlier, PM Modi & his Italian counterpart held bilateral dialogue with focus on many strategic areas.

It may be noted that India & Italy have opened a new chapter of defence ties by announcing joint military exercises.

Earlier in the day, Italian PM Girogia Meloni arrived in the capital on a two-day visit. PM Modi welcomed her on first visit to the country and also congratulated her on becoming the country’s 1st woman Prime Minister of Italy.

She was also given a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhawan today. She will be the chief guest at Raisina Dialogue.
