New Delhi: Former Uttar Pradesh CM and Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav’s second wife Sadhna Gupta passed away on Saturday, July 9. She was recently admitted to a private hospital in Gurugram due to a severe lung infection.
Reports suggest that her health has remained in a poor state for the past one week. Before being transfered to Gurugram, she was undergoing treatment in the Medanta Hospital in Lucknow. When her condition began deteriorating, she was brought to Gurugram via an air ambulance, hours after which she passed away.
Cause of death
Gupta was reportedly admitted to Medanta Hospital in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh for the last 15 days. She was suffering from diabetes along with unstable blood pressure, following which her condition remained critical.
The latter was on a ventilator for several days. Mulayam Singh Yadav was also constantly taking care of her.
Her body is being taken to Lucknow through a chartered plane from the national capital Delhi, where the rest of her family members and others will pay their last respects to her.
Who was Sadhna Gupta?
Sadhna Gupta was the second spouse of popular political leader Mulayam Singh Yadav. She hailed from Vidhuna in Auraiya distict of UP. Yadav and Gupta had for first time in the year 1980.
It was Sadhna’s second marriage with Mulayam Singh as well, as her first marriage could not last long and she parted ways with her first husband after four years of togetherness.
For the unversed, Sadhna was 20 years younger than Mulayam Singh.
