Mumbai builder Lalit Tekchandani booked for swindling home buyers to the tune of Rs 44 crore

Reports suggest that Mumbai Police have also issued a lookout notice again the builder Lalit Tekchandani & business partners in his company Supreme Constructions.

New Delhi: Mumbai based builder Lalit Tekchandani, his wife & business partners have been booked by Mumbai police for allegedly cheating a group of home buyers in the Taloja building project. The builder & his associates reportedly swindled the home buyers of their money, on pretext of handing over flats in a realty project.

This comes a day after his buisness partner Amit Wadhwani was arrested by Mumbai police for allegedly defrauding the home buyers.

Two FIRs have been registered against the builder Lalit Tekchandani & his aides separately, one in Mumbai & other in Navi Mumbai for duping flat buyers, officials said.

The accused in the case include Lalit Tekchandani, his wife Kajal Tekchandani, Arun Makhijani, Manulla Kachwala, and Mija Mohammad Nurul Hassan Ibrahim.

A day ago, Maharashtra BJP leader took to X handle and informed that Lalit Tekchandani’s partner Amit Wadhwani & his brother were also arrested by the Mumbai police in a cheating case.

Reports suggest that Mumbai Police have also issued a lookout notice again the builder Lalit Tekchandani & business partners in his company Supreme Constructions.

According to complainants, the builder Tekchandani ‘s company took away their money but neither did it deliver projects nor return back their money.

Heera Meghraj Jadhwani, one of the complainant invested about Rs 36 lakh in Hex City project in Taloja but it never received possession of the flat. Rather, the construction of complex came to a halt in 2016.

Second FIR was registered against Tekchandani and others on Tuesday, which says that the builder hoodwinked more than 150 home buyers in Kharghar housing project in Navi Mumbai.

About 160 people were cheated by the accused to the tune of ₹ 44 crore in a housing project of the company at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai, another official said.
