New Delhi: Amid national outrage over the murder of Nikita Tomar in Ballabhgarh, The Special Investigation Team of Haryana Police on Wednesday met the family members of the 21-year-old. Tauseef, who along with his friend Rehan, was arrested from Mewat by the Haryana Police SIT, has reportedly told the investigators that he killed Nikita Tomar as she was planning to get married soon to some other person.

According to sources, Nikita had refused to convert to Islam and rejected his ”friendship”, Tauseef was infuriated and wanted to teach Nikita a lesson. With no option left, Tauseef planned to kill her and shot her dead as she came out of her college on Monday after taking her exams.

SIT team has revealed that Tauseef, the prime accused, used a country-made pistol to shot Nikita Tomar and the police have recovered the weapon. The i20 car used in the crime has also been tracked and it was found to be registered in the name of a person in Delhi and the police have summoned the owner of the car for questioning.

The killer had been harassing her for several years, forcing the girl’s family to file an FIR against him in 2018. This resulted in his arrest, following which he could not complete his medical studies.
