Nitish Kumar says Bihar riots orchestrated, sees conspiracy behind violence

The Chief Minister lashed out at both BJP & Owaisi for violence in Bihar’s Nalanda & Sasaram district but rejected all charges of administrative lapses in containing communal violence.

New Delhi: While violence-hit towns of Bihar returning to normalcy after Ram Navami clashes, the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday sought to blame the BJP for ‘stirring the communal pot’ in a state, that will go to polls in 2 years from now.

The Bihar CM dismissed all charges of administration laxity and said that riots were not a law & order issue but part of a conspiracy to foment trouble in the state.

Kumar hinted at conspiracy angle by ‘some people’ for creating communal strife in the state and also vented his ire against the BJP & Home Minister.

The Chief Minister vowed to expose those behind the orchestrated riots and said that the culprits will be caught soon as door-to-door searches are underway.

The Chief Minister bristled when questioned about AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s accusation of defunct & rudderless governance in the state.

Calling Owaisi an ‘agent of BJP’, the Chief Minister asked, what stake he has in state where he has no representation.

The Chief Minister lashed out at both BJP & Owaisi for violence in Bihar’s Nalanda & Sasaram district but rejected all charges of administrative lapses in containing communal violence. He said this while speaking on the sidelines of a function organised on the occasion of birth anniversary of Dalit stalwart Babu Jagjeevan Ram.

Bihar CM also took a swipe at Home Minister over latter’s comments that “rioters will be hung upside down if BJP comes to power in state in 2024”.

“The riots last week were planned thoroughly. No wonder, one of the places, Sasaram, happened to be where he (Amit Shah) was supposed to visit. And the other was Bihar Sharif, a town which is dear to me,” said Kumar.

“Those behind the incident will be known soon. Just wait, door to door searches are on,” he added.

Notably, Bihar & Bengal witnessed spate of violence, which erupted during Ram Navami and continued for days. Bengal CM Mamata also deflected blame on her governance & alleged that BJP was sending goons in the state to stir communal trouble.
