New Delhi: A day after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted over 15 hour raids on Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in connection with corruption in Delhi excise policy, the latter launched a scathing attack on BJP-led Centre and said that it was more worried about Arvind Kejriwal’s soaring popularity and hence was ‘acting with vengeance’ to cut down his public connect.
Sisodia also said that the CBI case not about corruption in Excise policy but about stopping Kejriwal’s popularity and popular programs that are now finding resonance not just locally but also internationally.
Addressing a bunch of media persons, Deputy CM rejected the charges leveled by CBI and asserted that the Excise policy was partial, transparent and done with a good intent to increase revenue to the exchequer. He said that in spite of lauding good work, the Centre unleashed its agencies to ‘torture’ the state government and derail the development projects undertaken by AAP government.
He said that when the world’s leading newspaper is acknowledging and appreciating Delhi government’s leadership role in revamping school education, the Central government is employing wicked means to derail this progress.
Further, the Delhi Deputy CM claimed that the next electoral battle is going to be between Arvind Kejriwal and Narendra Modi.
Next polls will be Kejriwal Vs Modi, says Sisodia
Sisodia said that Arvind Kejriwal is fast emerging as the leader that the nation relies upon and can keep blind faith in. Kejriwal’s clean governance and political principles make him the perfect choice for top post.
“It’s going to be Arvind Kejriwal Vs Narendra Modi in next polls,” said Sisodia.
Drawing a distinction between Kejriwal and Narendra Modi, he hit out at the latter for ‘resorting to destructive politics’. He said that Kejriwal wants to take education & health to every strata of the while PM Modi is worried only concentration of power in few hands.
“Kejriwal, when sees good work, makes it a point to enhance it and make that contribute to nation’s growth but Modi remains concerned concentrating power. The saffron party looks more focused on toppling state governments,” he said.
He also claimed that Kejriwal works for Aam Aadmi while Modi government works for select few business houses.
