Not just popular global leader, PM Modi hailed as most credible face of peace; What Nobel panel member said

Asle Toje, the Deputy Leader of Norwegian Nobel Committee, called himself a big fan of Indian PM and also said that the country was marking new horizons of growth on back of visionary policies by PM Modi.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been hailed has as the most credible face for peace by none other than Nobel Peace Prize panel member Asle Toje. He lauded Indian government’s timely & friendly intervention in the Russia-Ukraine war and said that such international gesture was the need of hour in today’s age.

The endorsement of Narendra Modi as the ‘flagbearer of peace’ and that too coming from the horses’ mouth goes on to embolden his chances of winning a Nobel peace prize in future.

It may be noted that weeks after weeks, PM Modi has been hailed as the most popular global leader, based on findings of most reputed US survey by Morning Consult.

Hailing India’s positive intervention in Russia-Ukraine war, Asle Toje said, “the world listens when the country speaks.”

Asle Toje, the Deputy Leader of Norwegian Nobel Committee, called himself a big fan of Indian PM and also said that the country was marking new horizons of growth on back of visionary policies by PM Modi.

“Modi has been the Prime Minister for some years now and is one of the elder statesmen of this world. I think that credibility, and it is interesting to see that India has in record time gone from being a developing country to becoming one of the primary economies of this world.”

Addressing a section of media, he said that India was destined to become a superpower and also said that PM Modi was the most trusted leader for stopping war between warring nations.

It’s not the first time that demands have been raised for bestowing Indian PM with the Nobel peace prize. Many have advocated the same for him, on back of his global initiatives like International Yoga Day & International Solar Alliance.

In 2018, PM Modi was bestowed with the prestigious Seoul Peace Prize for his contribution to global co-operation & fostering ties between nations. This was one of the rare honour to be extended to an Indian PM in 28 years of its existence. Only 15 distinguished people from across the globe have won this award, so far.
