# Talking about the hiring scheme Agnipath, national security advisor Doval told ANI, “There’s a need to look at it in a perspective. #Agnipath isn’t a standalone scheme in itself. When PM Modi came to power in 2014, one of his prime priorities was how to make India secure and strong. That required many avenues, many steps – multitude of them”.

# “Broadly speaking, they come under the four heads. It requires equipment, it requires change in systems and structures, it requires change in technology, it requires change in manpower, policies and they have to be futuristic”, he added.

# Amid the anticipations and concerns that the newly introduced scheme will eventually end the regiment system in the forces, Doval said, “As far as regiments are concerned, two things need to be understood. Nobody is tinkering with the concept of regiments…They (regiments) will continue…The regimental system has not ended..”

# On being asked about alleged involvement of some coaching centers in violence over Agnipath scheme, NSA said, “FIRs lodged, accused identified, after due probe we can say who were the forces behind it. An investigation must be done and thoroughly so”.

# On question of some expressing fear of Agniveers released from Services becoming mercenaries for hire, Doval replied, “It’s totally invalid. I can tell that if there’s any guarantee in the society to keep peace & stability it’ll be the civilian population that has to become law-abiding”.

# NSA Doval condemns the violence over the recruitment scheme across various states, saying that there is no place for vandalism and destruction of public property in the name of protests.

# Doval further said, “Post-2019, the mood & temper of the people of Kashmir has totally changed. People are no more in the favour of Pakistan, terrorism”.
