Patiala clashes: Who is key conspirator Barjinder Singh Parwana nabbed from Mohali?

He was arrested by the team of CIA Patiala under the leadership of Inspector Shaminder Singh from Mohali airport on Sunday morning

New Delhi: On Sunday, Punjab police on Sunday arrested Patiala clash and violence case mastermind Barjinder Singh Parwana from Mohali at around 7.30 am. Parwana had reportedly reached Mohali from Mumbai.

The recent news reports suggest that Barjinder Singh Parwana has a criminal background and four cases are already registered against him.

In the Patiala violence case, the police have registered 6 FIRs wherein nearly 25 people have been named. Of these, Harish Singla, Kuldeep Singh, and Daljit Singh have already been arrested.

The police were continuously raiding for the arrest of mastermind Barjinder Singh Parwana. He was arrested by the team of CIA Patiala under the leadership of Inspector Shaminder Singh from Mohali airport on Sunday morning.

Who is Barjinder Singh Parwana?

Barjinder Singh Parwana is one of the Sikh religious leaders of Punjab, who heads the Damdami Taksal Jatha Rajpura. His image is considered as an outspoken leader. He often publishes videos and statements in favor of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. Bhindranwale is considered the father of Sikh extremism in the 1980s.

Born in 1984, Barjinder Singh Parwana went to Singapore for two years after completing his graduation. After returning back to India, he started his own mint and became a preacher.

Most of Parwana’s social media profiles contain content promoting terrorist activities. On his profile pic on Instagram, he is wearing a half-sleeved shirt, with a tattoo of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale on his arm.

When he was arrested last year

Mohali Police arrested Parwana last year too on July 8, 2021, on the complaint of Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri.  A case was registered against him under sections 153, 505, and 120 of the Indian Penal Code.
