PM Modi inaugurates New Bhaupur-New Khurja section of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor

These special corridors for carriage trains would ensure passenger trains run on time. It will also ensure that carriage trains can run at 3X speed and they will be able to carry 2X load capacity, PM Modi said

PM Modi inaugurated the New Bhaupur-New Khurja section of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. The new corridor will reduce costs & facilitate transport of double stack containers.

“We have planned to start two dedicated freight corridors. The first one will connect Punjab’s Ludhiana to Dankuni in West Bengal. The second one will connect JNPT in Maharashtra to Dadri in Uttar Pradesh”, said PM Modi

These freight corridors will play a major role in making India self-reliant. Be it traders, farmers or consumers, everyone will be benefitted from these, he said.
