PM Modi to attend ‘Griha Pravesh’of 19,000 houses in Gujarat, a lookback at all such occasions

PMAY (Urban & Rural) has been a flagship program of Modi government, under which houses are being constructed & delivered to the poor. At many occasions, PM Modi has himself attended the Griha Parvesh ceremony and handed over the keys to beneficiaries.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to attend the ‘Griha Pravesh’ ceremony of 19,000 houses in Gujarat on Friday, built under the PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana).

During the day long visit to his home state, PM Modi is slated to inaugurate & lay foundation stone of projects worth Rs 4,400 crore.

While participating in the Griha Pravesh ceremony of 19,000 homes, developed at a cost of about Rs 1,950 crores, PM Modi will hand over the keys to beneficiaries of the government housing program. Then, he will launch developmental projects worth Rs 2450 crores in Gandhinagar.

PMAY (Urban & Rural) has been a flagship program of Modi government, under which houses are being constructed & delivered to the poor. At many occasions, PM Modi has himself attended the Griha Parvesh ceremony and handed over the keys to beneficiaries. These housing projects are conceived & delivered in a time bound manner and till date, about 3 crore houses (Urban & Rural) have been completed under the PMAY.

Instances when PM Modi participated in ‘Griha Pravesh’

● During his visit to Rewa on National Panchayati Raj Day in April 2023, Prime Minister participated in a programme marking the ‘Griha Pravesh’ of more than 4 lakh beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin.

● In December 2022, during his visit to Tripura, PM launched the Grih Pravesh programme for beneficiaries under PMAY – Urban and Rural. These houses cover over 2 lakh beneficiaries.

● On the occasion of Dhanteras in October 2022, PM participated in ‘Griha Pravesham’ of about 4.51 Lakh beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin in Satna, Madhya Pradesh via video conferencing.

● In November 2022, PM inaugurated 3024 newly constructed EWS flats at Kalkaji, Delhi built for rehabilitating slum dwellers under the ‘In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project’ and handed over keys to eligible beneficiaries at Bhoomiheen Camp in a programme at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

● In September 2022, during his visit to Gujarat, PM dedicated and laid the foundation stone of over 45,000 houses built under PM Awas Yojana.

● In March 2022, PM participated in ‘Grih Pravesham’ of more than 5 Lakh beneficiaries of PMAY-G in Madhya Pradesh via video conferencing.

● In October 2021, PM handed over keys to 75,000 beneficiaries of PMAY – Urban in 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh.

● In September 2020, PM addressed the ‘Grih Pravesham’ event in Madhya Pradesh through video conferencing, where 1.75 Lakh Families were delivered pucca houses under PMAY-Rural.
