Punjab govt replies after BJP MP claims Delhi CM has taken security cover from the state police

Bhartiya Janta Party leader Pravesh Sahib Singh alleged that being the CM of Delhi, Kejriwal took security from Punjab police personnel.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal come to the limelight due to an allegation by a Bhartiya Janta Party leader Pravesh Sahib Singh on Wednesday. Singh alleged in one of his tweets that being the CM of Delhi, Kejriwal took security from Punjab police officers.

However, the allegation was dismissed by the Punjab government. The government said there are not any commandos overseeing the security of Arvind Kejriwal.

Arvind has now 190 police personnel, says Singh

Pravesh Sahib Singh on Wednesday took to Twitter to level the allegation against the AAP chief. Sing tweeted in Hindi.  ”Now, Arvind Kejriwal has 190 police personnel. He used to say, ‘will never take security, will end the VIP culture.’ Before the development, Kejriwal had 80 security personnel.  Now Punjab government has given 110 commandos from Punjab government, 18 are deployed at his home, 10 are involved in the security of his family members,” read the translation of the Tweet.

Retweeting Pravesh’s tweet Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Kharia tweeted, ”If this news about mega security for@ArvindKejriwal and that too Commando’s from PB Police then it not only exposes d sham of @AamAadmiParty vowing to wipe out VIP culture but also trashes d recent decision of @BhagwantMann to withdraw security of 122 PB politicians! Good ”Badlav”.”

Talking about the allegation Punjab ADGP (Security) AK Pandey termed the allegation false.

Talking to the Tribune, Pandey said, ”The claim made by some leaders on Twitter is false.”

So far, Arvind Kejriwal has not replied to the allegation. The reply from his leaders in Punjab is also awaited.
