New Delhi: Punjab’s ex-Forest Minister and Congress leader Sadhu Singh Dharamsot has been arrested by state’s Vigilance Bureau (VB) in a corruption case.
Last week, VB had arrested Mohali DFO over graft charges, he disclosed to VB how Dharamsot used to be bribed before cutting a single tree.
According to reports, the allegations against him include receipt of bribes for granting permission to cut trees during his tenure as the Minister of Forests in Punjab.
He was allegedly paid Rs 500 per tree by the contractors when trees were axed to execute development projects.
