Rahul Gandhi’s Burberry T-shirt in Padyatra draws BJP’s attention, latter claims Rs 41,000 attire

The saffron party claimed that Rahul was slamming the Centre over price rise & inflation issues in the padyatra but was himself wearing an expensive T-shirt costing Rs 41,000.

New Delhi: While Congress hopes to build fresh public connect via its 3,500 km long padyatra, former party president Rahul Gandhi has been caught up in yet another controversy.

As picture of Rahul Gandhi in Burberry T-shirt surfaced, it prompted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to target him with Rs 41,000 jibe.

Rahul Gandhi reportedly wore a Burberry T-shirt during the Bharat Jodo Yatra and found himself at the receiving end of BJP’s barrage of jibes.

The BJP took to Twitter to share an image of Rahul Gandhi in Burberry T-Shift and along with his photo also posted the cost of T-shirt with the caption ‘Bharat dekho.’ The one-line swipe by BJP is an attempt to impress upon the public about ‘Congress double standards on issues’ relating to public & its leaders.

The saffron party claimed that Rahul was slamming the Centre over price rise & inflation issues in the padyatra but was himself wearing an expensive T-shirt costing Rs 41,000.

However, Congress was quick to hit back and it raked up suit-boot ki sarkar jibe to turn tables on the saffron party. It asked the BJP to also admit truth & discuss about PM Modi’s Rs 10 lakh suit & glasses worth Rs 1.5 lakh.

“Hey… are you scared? (After) seeing the crowd gathered in ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra. Talk about the issue… Speak on unemployment and inflation. If we have to discuss clothes, then Modi ji’s suit that costs Rs10 lakh and glasses that cost Rs1.5 lakh will also be talked about,” the Congress tweeted.
