Ram Mandir construction from next month, Trust offers 2 dates for PM Modi to do ‘Bhoomi Pujan’

Talking to the media after meeting, Secretary of the trust Champat Rai said that it will take almost three to three and half years to complete the construction of the Ram temple.

New Delhi: Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has finalized the schedule for construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya and ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ of the construction area will be done either on August 3 or 5.

Trust has decided to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this occasion and the final date will be announced as per the confirmation from the Prime Minister’s Office. The decision was taken in a meeting of trust members in Ayodhya this afternoon.

“We have sent to the Prime Minister two dates to choose from – either August 3 or August 5 – as the date to lay down the foundation of the Ram Temple. The construction will begin on the date he deems fit,” said Kameshawar Chaupal of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

On 2 July, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, president of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, had written to PM Modi, requesting him to visit Ayodhya and carry out the ‘bhoomi poojan’. He had stated the trust would ensure there is no overcrowding and that social distancing is maintained.

Ram Temple to be built in 3-3.5 years

Kameshwar Chaupal said that there is a slight change in the design of Grand Ram temple and now there will be five domes instead of two. The height of the Temple will also be increased to 161 feet.
