New Delhi: A day after media reports said that Coronavirus has knocked the doors of Ramdev’s Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar, the yoga guru himself came out in open to deny it.
Refuting reports of coronavirus cases inside the main campus of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Ramdev said that new patients who came to IPD and new students who came to Acharyakulam were tested for COVID-19 according to the protocol and 14 visitors were found to be positive. He said these patients were not allowed inside the main campus.

Ramdev to be tested for Covid-19?
Reports had claimed that as many as 83 staffers of Patanjali Ayurveda were found Covid-19 positive. These staffers belonged to 3 different institutions run by Baba Ramdev. Among the 83 infected, 46 have been found in Patanjali Yoga Peeth, 28 in Yoga Grams and 9 in Acharyakulam.
As per the local reports, these infected are isolated in the Patanjali complex in Haridwar itself. Authorities further said that if needed, Baba Ramdev’s coronavirus test can also be done.
Patanjali Yogpeeth put under hotspot/containment zone
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand is witnessing a surge in Coronavirus cases. Today, 93 students of a government nursing college tested positive for Coronavirus.
In response to rising cases, Uttarakhand government on Friday announced that people in 18-45 age group will be inoculated against COVID-19 for free. The exercise will begin in 1st week of May and will cover a population of around 50 lakh, which will cost an estimated ₹400 crore to the state exchequer.
The state govt has also released a list of hotspots/containments zones in various cities and urged people to exercise maximum caution in fighting the pandemic.
U’khand govt vs Ramdev: Who ‘exposes’ whom?
In the containment zone prepared by U’khand govt, one name that has set everyone talking in the inclusion of Patanjali Yogpeeth in the list.
The state govt list clearly states that the said institution has been put under Covid-19 hotspot/containment zone on 19th April, 2021.
But, Yoga guru in conversation to mediapersons denied any Coronavirus outbreak in its main campus.
So, the question arises… Who is at fault? Has the state govt defaulted in preparing the containment zone list?
Or Is Ramdev lying or trying to save face because it has marketed Coronil as immunity boosting drug as well as something which prevents Coronavirus.
Is Patanjali’s Coronil a ‘dud’ medicine?
Last year, Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali Ayurveda had launched Coronil medicine to treat Covid-19 patients. Yoga guru claimed that Coronil was approved by govt as well as WHO.
However, later, WHO issued a clarification saying it had not given any approval to traditional medicines to treat Covid-19.
