Recovery rate @48.20%: 1,14,073 Covid-19 patients out of over 2.35 lakh have recovered

During the last 24 hours, 4,611 were cured of the infection. Health and Family Welfare Ministry said, 9,887 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 2,36,657 in the country.

New Delhi: The Central Government today said that the COVID-19 recovery rate is 48.20 per cent in the country and the total number of recovered people from Corona virus reached to one lakh 14 thousand 73.

During the last 24 hours, 4,611 were cured of the infection. Health and Family Welfare Ministry said, 9,887 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 2,36,657 in the country.

It was the highest spike in new cases in one day since the outbreak of Corona pandemic in India. During the last 24 hours, 294 deaths were registered taking the nationwide toll to six thousand 642.

The case fatality rate is 2.80 per cent in the country. Meanwhile, The Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR said, a total of one lakh 37 thousand 938 samples were tested for Corona virus during the last 24 hours. With this, figure of total number of tests reached to 45 lakh 24 thousand 317 in the country.

ICMR is continuously scaling up its testing facilities for COVID-19 by giving approval to government and private laboratories. As of now, total 742 laboratories across India have been given approval to conduct the test for COVID-19 including 520 government laboratories and 222 private laboratories’ chains.
