Mumbai Police Commissioner, who was recently shunted out, after fingers were pointed at him in the Antilia case, today made shocking allegations against the Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

Former Mumbai Police commissioner Param Bir Singh has written a letter to Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and levelled serious charges against Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

In his letter to CM Thackeray, Singh claimed that Deshmukh had asked API Sachin Vaze to collect Rs 100 crore every month from bars restaurants, other establishments.

“The Home Minister told Vaze that he had a target to accumulate Rs 100 crores a month. For achieving this target, he told Vaze that there are about 1,750 bars, restaurants and other establishments in Mumbai and if a sum of Rs 2-3 lakhs each was collected from each of 3 them, a monthly collection of Rs. 40-50 crores was achievable. Rest of the collection could be made from other sources,” Parambir Singh reportedly wrote in the letter.

BJP guns for Deshmukh

Former Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis demanded Anil Deshmukh’s resignation over the controversy.

BJP’s Kirit Somaiya said, “Ex-Mumbai Police Commissioner says real extortionist is Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Sachin Waze used to meet him several times. Deshmukh was extorting Money from Pub etc. We demand that Anil Deshmukh should be sacked.”

Home Minister refutes Parambir’s claims

Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has refuted claims of former Mumbai police chief, claiming that he was resorting to ‘cheap tactics’ for protecting himself from the law.

‘Param Bir Singh has made this false allegation to save himself as well as to protect himself from further legal action’, tweeted Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.
