Shaheen Bagh: SDMC files complaint against AAP MLA Aamanatullah Khan for obstructing anti-encroachment drive 

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation lodged a complaint against AAP MLA Aamanatullah Khan for creating an obstruction in the anti-encroachment drive in Shaheen Bagh on Monday. 

New Delhi: The South Delhi Municipal Corporation lodged a complaint against AAP MLA Aamanatullah Khan for creating an obstruction with his supporters in the anti-encroachment drive in Shaheen Bagh on Monday.

Writing a letter to the station house officer (SHO) of Shaheen Bagh, SDMC Mayor Mukesh Suryan said, ”The police personnel were present at the above site for carrying out the said encroachment removal action, Amanatullah Khan, MLA (Okhla) alongwith his supporters present did not allow the field staff of Central Zone, SDMC to remove the encroachment.”

The licensing inspector demanded an appropriate legal action should be taken against Khan and his supporters for interfering in the discharge of official duties by public servants.

Notably, the encroachment drive was scheduled on Monday but it failed and the civic body had to return from the location as a large number of people, including women, erupted on the site.

Despite the presence of a huge number of police personnel, the civic body team could remove the illegal enchorchment. Some one them also raised sloagns agaisnt the BJP governemnt in the Centre.

Besides, Delhi BJP Chief Gupta also wrote a separte letter to Delhi Police Commissioner, demanding an FIR against the AAP and Congress leaders for the same region.

As per the letter, leader of AAP and Congress did not allow the authorities to do their work by ”laying in front of bulldozers”.

”So, it is requested to take action in accordance with the law and registere a case against those responsible for obstructing the government (civic body) work,” added Gupta in his letter.
