Shinzo Abe Dies: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deepest condolence after the tragic death of former Japan’s Prime Minister Abe Shinzo
He said, he is shocked and saddened beyond words. He remembered him as a towering global statesman, an outstanding leader, and a remarkable administrator.

PM Modi also remembered his association with him. He said that he got to know about him when he was Gujarat Chief Minister and how the friendship continued when he became the Prime Minister.
PM said that he was always impressed by Abe’s sharp insights on economy and global affairs.
My association with Mr. Abe goes back many years. I had got to know him during my tenure as Gujarat CM and our friendship continued after I became PM. His sharp insights on economy and global affairs always made a deep impression on me.

He also remembered his recent visit to Japan, where he had met him where disused many issues.
During my recent visit to Japan, I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Abe again and discuss many issues. He was witty and insightful as always. Little did I know that this would be our last meeting. My heartfelt condolences to his family and the Japanese people.
