Shocking footage: Brij Bhushan Singh breaks reporter’s mic in anger

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh broke a reporter’s microphone who repeatedly kept asking him questions on the charges leveled against him.

New Delhi: The Wrestling Federation of India’s chairman Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, broke a woman journalist’s microphone on Tuesday when he was continuously questioned on the charges leveled against him by the Delhi Police.

Singh had just landed at Delhi Airport when he was ambushed by a Times Now journalist. The woman started questioning him about the allegations of sexual immorality and the Delhi Police chargesheet, to which Sharan quickly replied, “I have nothing to tell you,” and walked away.

Unfazed by Singh’s response, the reporter probed further, asking about his potential resignation from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This line of questioning seemed to push Singh over the edge, and he snapped back at the reporter in frustration.

Attempting to evade further interrogation, Singh proceeded towards his waiting car, accompanied by his bodyguards. However, the persistent reporter continued to pose questions, undeterred. In a last-ditch effort to obtain a response, she placed her microphone inside the vehicle just as Singh was closing the door. Tragically, as the door shut with the reporter’s hand still gripping the microphone, the device became lodged and eventually fell to the ground.

The incident was captured by the cameraman accompanying the journalist and has become viral.

Earlier, the Delhi Police filed a chargesheet against Brij Bhushan Singh, who is” liable to be fulfilled and penalized for offenses” of stalking and bothering. The police have cited Sections 506( felonious intimidation), 354( outraging a woman’s modesty), 354 A( sexual importunity), and 354 D( stalking). Additionally, the document notes that Singh’s harassment was “repeated and continuing” in one particular instance.

In light of the charges, a Delhi Court summoned Brij Bhushan Singh and Vinod Tomar, a suspended assistant secretary of the Wrestling Federation of India, to appear on July 18.
