New Delhi: Punjab government under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann announced to give free electricity to the people of the state for up to 300 units today. A day ago, he had promised to give great news to the Punjab people during a press conference in Jalandhar.

Soon after the announcement, many people on social media started trolling the scheme. People have also been sharing memes targeting the Punjab government and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Criticising the CM a Twitter user wrote, ”Bhagwant Mann announced 300 units of free electricity from July in Punjab. Freebies are like slow poison. #BhagwantMann will make Punjab situation like Sri Lanka in few days.”

Free scheme was promised during the poll
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government had announced to provide free electricity in Punjab for up to 300 units and to roll out a doorstep ration delivery scheme.
Notably, the ration delivery scheme is already in effect in the state last month.
