New Delhi: Following the decision of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Yasin Malik for helping terrorists against India, Twitter flooded with memes and reactions on Wednesday. Many people said the decision of the court will set an example for those who support terrorists that they will not be awarded strict punishment.
Some people also demanded to hang Yasin Malki under the hashtag #Yashin Malik ko Fasi do. Earlier in the day, former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi tweeted in the support of the terror funding convict.
Notably, The NIA court also imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh. NIA had sought the death penalty for the separatist leader who was convicted on May 19.
Before the decision of the court came, Yasin said, ”I will not beg for anything….I left on the court to decide my case.”
