New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) probing the Amravati killing of resident Umesh Kolhe, has claimed that the 11 accused were ‘radicalised Islamists’ of the Tablighi Jamaat.
In the chargesheet, the NIA revealed that Umesh Kolhe was murdered by ‘radicalised Islamists of Tablighi Jamaat’ to avenge the alleged dishonour of Prophet Mohammad.

In the killing of the 54-year-old Amravati resident Umesh Kolhe, the NIA has named, Atib Rashid, Musfeeq Ahmed, Irfan Khan, Shahim Ahmed, Yusuf Khan, Mubashir Ahmed, Shahrukh, Abdul Arbaz, Sheikh Shakeel, Mohd Shoeb and Abdul Tausheef Sheikh.
When was Umesh Kolhe murdered?
Umesh Kolhe was brutally murdered on June 21 by three assailants when he was returning from work. He was killed days after he had put up a post on WhatsApp supporting then-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s controversial comments on Prophet Mohammed.
