Union Minister makes 1st call over BSNL’s 4G network, says ‘PM Modi’s vision taking shape’

Recently the government approved 100 percent FDI in the telecom sector and apart from this,  it was decided that telecom companies would be given a moratorium of 4 years on spectrum charges and AGR dues.

New Delhi: Communications minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday informed that he made the first call over the Indian 4G network of BSNL. He took to Twitter expressing happiness and said, “Made first call over Indian 4G network of BSNL (Designed and Made in India). PM @narendramodi Ji’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat taking shape.”

BSNL 4G is available in many areas across India and the company is also promoting it by offering free 4G SIM to its customers till December 31. BSNL has been working hard to build its 4G network with the help of Indian technology.

Recently the government approved 100 percent FDI in the telecom sector and apart from this,  it was decided that telecom companies would be given a moratorium of 4 years on spectrum charges and AGR dues.

In a press conference, Ashwini Vaishnaw said that 100 percent FDI has been allowed in the automatic route of the telecom sector. The Union Cabinet has approved a total of 9 structural reforms. Apart from this, telecom companies will also get relief of 4 years on Adjusted Gross Revenue ie AGR payment.

Giving relief the debt-ridden telecom sector, the Union Cabinet also approved a moratorium on payment of spectrum dues by telecom. Telecom companies will be given a moratorium of 4 years regarding spectrum charges and AGR dues.
