UP assembly polls: Actress and Miss Bikini India 2018 Archana Gautam gets Congress ticket, to contest from Hastinapur

New Delhi: Actress and Miss Bikini India 2018 Archana Gautam, who joined the Congress Party in November 2021 has been given ticket and will be contesting from Meerut’s Hastinapur seat.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday (January 13) had released the list of 125 candidates for the polls.

The list includes  40 per cent women candidates. Archana Gautam is also known as the Sunny Leone of the South.

The finalised list includes few journalists, one actress, some social workers among others.

Archana made her Bollywood debut with the adult movie Great Grand Masti. She has also appeared in a few Tamil, Hindi and Telugu movies. Her other two Hindi movies are Haseena Parker and Baaraat Company.

She has  also acted in several TV serials, like Sathia Saath Nibhana, Kubool Hai, CID etc.

Also, mother of the Unnao rape victim has also been named in the list released by the party.

Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2022 is scheduled to be held in seven phases-February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27 and March 3 and 7. The counting of UP Assembly Polls iwill take place on March 10.
